My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Sadie is an endearing, sweet 4 year old german shepherd who is now looking for a new forever family after the passing of her beloved dad. Sadie’s dad was reclusive;  she only knew his home and her small backyard.

Despite her recent heartbreak, she has found herself in a new world and is so excited and intrigued about everything she is seeing and doing. She is now full of life and very friendly with people, dogs and cats.

She is great with men and women and especially the 4 year old little girl in her current home.

She is now living with a dog and 2 cats for the first time.  She is curious about them, wants to play and be friends, but unfortunately, they are all hiding.    She loves fetch and tug toys.

Sadie enjoys car rides, is crate trained and leash trained.  Lately she is pulling a little on the leash, which may be because she is just so excited.  But since all shepherds love training, this is something that can be corrected.

Sadie is ready to share life’s adventures and joys with a family or person who knows german shepherds and appreciates how smart, energetic and devoted they are.  A perfect home would probably have children and maybe another dog.  Sadie is ready to be your girl!

Sadie’s foster mom writes “Please consider adopting this wonderful girl if you want to make a dog happy. Sadie is sweet, beautiful, funny, and an all around nice dog. She's just been put out in the world and is like a kid in a candy shop.”

More about this rescue

We are a group of German Shepherd lovers who help homeless German Shepherds and Shepherd mixes that are in dire straits and need rescue.

We rescue dogs from kill shelters or other situations where the dogs' life is in danger. We fully vet our dogs and our wonderful fosters care for our dogs until their "forever home" is found!

We are a dating service for dogs, helping potential adopters find the perfect match for their families. We will work with you tirelessly until we find the perfect fit for your family!

We make a lifetime commitment to every dog and every adopter and we are there to answer questions and help with the transition to your home.

Why do we do it? We LOVE dogs, especially German Shepherds and Shepherd mixes and it breaks our hearts that so many adoptable GSD's never make it out of shelters.

We are an all volunteer group and are always looking for new volunteers to help us in our mission to save dogs!

FOSTERS, we need YOU!!!!

We need fosters to provide a safe haven while a dog is waiting for his/her forever home! If you think you cannot foster because you couldn't let your foster dog leave, talk to us!! While many of us have adopted one or more of our fosters ( we call it Failing Fostering 101 !!!) we can tell you how wonderful it is to see your foster become a beloved addition to a new family.............and opens up a space to save another dog on death row!

If you have any questions at all about fostering please give us a shout and we are happy to answer all questions.

If you cannot foster, we always need volunteers to help host events, do fundraising and PR .

And , of course, we always need donations to pay the vets who keep our dogs healthy and the trainers who help us with doggie manners!

Donations are always welcome and very much appreciated!
