Young Kia, born May 2025 weighs 25 pounds and likely will be a medium sized dog. Sadly despite her young age, she did not have an easy start. Very young she was dumped, and taken in by nearby residents – but they also didn’t care for her – leaving her full of fleas and ticks. Our sister sanctuary the SPCA PV got word that she was in need and managed to fit her into the shelter. Kia is partier at play time, especially fun with bigger dogs as she has a - rough and tumble play style and very fun to watch! But she’d be just as happy to be your solo adventure girl. Kia thrives on affection and is so excited when guests come to the shelter. She was tested with cats and wasn’t afraid, but also a bit over zealous, so might be too much of a party for many cats. She is warm and bubby, and looking for the affection of a real home. She’s got far too much love and life to be living in a shelter, with only brief snippets of one on one love. In her brief stay in a home she was ok alone, loved to play, and didn’t chew things. Kia is now healthy and vaccinated and is looking for a real family to call her own.

PVCA Animal Rescue is the sister organization of the SPCA Puerto Vallarta in Mexico. We facilitate the transportation and adoption of rescue dogs into loving forever homes. PVCA is a network of volunteers, transporters, and foster homes. Our sister shelter, the SPCA PV rescues, rehabilitates and promote sterilization in the Puerto Vallarta area, with the goal of eliminating the euthanasia of healthy and adoptable animals. The organizations are wholly run through donations and volunteer efforts. The dogs & cats of Mexico are too often found living on the streets after being discarded and/or extremely abused. Compassion Knows No Boundaries!
