Khaleesi is a pup whose face belongs on the cover of national geographic magazine- she is such a striking beauty! Khaleesi is a 39-pound adult shepherd mix with a bit of weight to gain before she is feeling her best. Her cerulean blue eyes, jet black fur and dramatic caramel eyebrows make her an absolute work of art. Khaleesi's expressive ears bounce when she walks (CUTE!) and her right ear seems determined to stand up
while her left ear remains delightfully floppy- a very charming feature! Khaleesi is a very friendly lady who will curl into your body and lean against you for a hug. She is also extremely generous with her kisses. Khaleesi is athletic, smart, and surprisingly grounded for a relatively young dog. If you’re looking for a dog to adventure with during the day and snuggle up with at night, Khaleesi is just who you’re looking for. Send in your adoption request today to meet this masterpiece of a pup!!
**Hiking feedback: "Khaleesi walked very politely on the leash. She seems quite confident and grounded. Khaleesi was very friendly and gently interested in other dogs in our group but was polite about giving space when asked. Khaleesi earned the designation of delightful weirdo early on in the hike when she assumed a full “sploot” position. Khaleesi is charming, goofy, loving and gorgeous. 10/10 stars for this sweetheart"!!
Additional feedback: "She was extremely well behaved. She minded her space as well as that of others. She readily accepted pats and scratches, water and snacks. My husband walked Cabella and when they walked next to one another they were very playful and seemed to enjoy one another's company. Cute pair".
*Sleepover feedback: "Khaleesi is a family favorite! She is easy on a leash, calm in the car and sleeps all night in her crate. She was great with 7 year olds and up.She can go from a mellow lounge-a-hound to a zoomer! She’s a good running companion and will lope along at various speeds".
Weelend Host Feedback: "I hosted Khaleesi 11/14-11/16. She was so amazing!! She was very sweet and low energy. She did not have any accidents in the house. She walked well on the leash. When we saw other dogs on our walks, she would pull a little bit to try to sniff/play with them. She loved bones. She is very quiet, and I only heard her bark once all weekend. She loves to give kisses, but she also really appreciates her own space. She was such a sweet girl and is going to make a great addition to a family!"

More about this rescue
Located in central North Carolina and officially established in 2004, Saving Grace has placed over 15,000 dogs into homes since its inception. These dogs were from rural animal control facilities with little resources and who would otherwise not had the opportunity to receive necessary veterinary care and a chance at adoption. While we have grown significantly over the years and have been successful growing our numbers we still see many great dogs miss the opportunity of adoption.
We have a large variety of dogs varying in breed, size, shape, age and needs and would love to work with you to find you a great dog companion while providing a dog in need with a loving home. Our dogs are chosen based on temperament and socialization. We get some of the most charming, unique mix breeds as well as some striking purebreds. Our dogs come from rural, underserved areas and while they may have little experience as an indoor family member, they have the temperament and personality that is sure to bring much love and appreciation to their new home. Most have started their crate training while in our program. Veterinary care including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test, vaccinations, monthly preventatives are provided prior to each adoption. If you would like more information about adopting one of our dogs, please email savinggrace@savinggracenc.org
