Meet Whiskey, the sweetest, most tenderhearted boy who has already made incredible progress in just a few short days in his foster home! This gentle soul absolutely adores being around his foster dog sibling and his humans. While he’s still a bit apprehensive and nervous with new people, patience and letting him set the pace make all the difference. Once he feels safe, his loving personality truly shines.
Whiskey is working so hard to build confidence every day. He’s already making fast improvements with house training, getting comfortable in a crate or pen, and learning that the world isn’t so scary after all. He LOVES soft blankets, exploring at his own pace, sniffing the world on walks, and he’s doing amazing on leash! Giving him space helps him feel brave—and when he feels brave, he happily follows his people and his dog friend everywhere.
He has a huge heart, a snuggly side, and a deep desire to trust. Having another dog around has been incredibly helpful for him, and he would thrive with a confident canine buddy to show him the ropes.
Whiskey is a special boy who’s already proving how resilient and loving he truly is. His foster family is so proud of him—and we know his forever family will be too. 💛
Foster Update: "Whiskey has made so much progress in the 2.5 weeks since we've had him in our home! He is such a sweet dog and loves to be around our dog and us. He’s still apprehensive and nervous around people, but patience, letting him initiate all contact, and moving very slowly helps. He is still not comfortable with people initiating contact with him, but is getting more curious every day. He is working SO hard and showing improvement on house training and being less fearful and more confident! He loves laying on soft blankets and recently discovered his love for chewing bones. He is great with sharing and doesn't resource guard anything (he tries to steal a few bites of his foster brother's breakfast every morning). He is doing amazing on leash, alternating between sniffing and running on walks. When we give him space he has the confidence to explore and will follow us and our dog everywhere! He has the biggest heart and is so snuggly, often choosing to cuddle us when he feels brave. He’s trying so hard to trust in humans and is doing amazing. He especially loves dogs and having our dog around to teach him the ropes has been expediting his progress a lot. We are so proud of him!!!"
