My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This brave little guy was found bruised and with a broken leg, likely thrown from a car. Despite the rough start, Sausage never lost his spark. After weeks of getting his strength up and then undergoing FHO surgery to repair his injured leg, he’s made a beautiful recovery. He might have a slight limp, but don’t let that fool you! He runs, plays, and zooms around just like any other kitten!

Sausage is bursting with personality and has the loudest, happiest purr you've ever heard. He loves to be around people and is always ready for attention, affection, and a good toy chase. Whether it's a feather wand or a crinkly ball, he's all in!

He’s been fostered with both dogs and other cats and fits right in. Holding his own and making friends with ease. Sausage would thrive in a home with other animal companions or as the center of your universe.

If you’re looking for a survivor with a heart of gold and a whole lot of love to give, Sausage is your guy. He's ready to learn the joy of finding his true family and leap into his forever home, purring all the way.

Go meet their pets

We are in Lytle, TX, so a meet and greet is probably not possible. However, we like to use videos and pictures to really help potential adopters get a sense of our adoptable animals' personalities. Plus, once approved for adoption, we set up virtual meet and greets to help you find your perfect match.

Why should you adopt from a Texas Rescue? Texas is in a crisis with an overpopulation of animals in the shelters and no homes available. We are heartbroken each day with the many animals found roaming the streets. Many never even had a home to begin with or were dumped. We do our best to educate the public on ways to help with this crisis but for the animals that we rescue, their best chance is a home that is out of state. Every animal deserves a chance and sometimes that means that their forever homes are not local and we are here to help them get where they need to go.

More about this rescue

Rescue is our passion. It is in our DNA. We eagerly jump on every opportunity to save an animal. When we cruise past a stray without a collar, we stop the car and get out. We’re not “just keep on driving” people. We’re “run across the highway” people.

We are a veterinarian-run 501(c)3 tax-exempt non-profit organization.
