Their adoption process

Our contract will explain everything, but a home check is required before adoption. We may request an update on the adoptee at any time, and adopters must respond in a reasonable amount of time. If we can not get a hold of adopter, we will visit the home. If at anytime it's proven that the adopter can no longer care for adoptee properly, they will be removed from the adopter.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
We have a very general application for adopters to fill out
  2. Interview
After reviewing the application we do a text only interview. We may ask for pictures of various paper work.
  3. Approve Application
After the interview, if the adopter seems like a good fit, the application will be approved.
  4. Meet the Pet
Approved adopters will then set up multiple dates with us to meet and bond with the pet. This step is for nervous cats and dogs ONLY
  5. Home Check
We will set up a date and time to inspect the house to be sure that it is suitable and safe for the pet.
  6. Sign Adoption Contract
We will go over the contract together, and adopters will sign a paper copy and receive a digital copy for their own records.
  7. Pay Fee
Each pet has an adoption fee which is required to adopt

Go meet their pets

Any approved adopters are encouraged to come visit the pet before finalizing adoption. All dogs and all nervous/semi-feral cats must be visited at least 3 times before adoption. Kittens and friendly cats are not required to visit, but still encouraged.

More about this rescue

Outer Space Animal Rescue is a very small, homebased rescue service in Philadelphia PA. We work to spay/neuter stray cats, and assist the Philadelphia pet owners to get their pets fixed for free or low cost. We also take in stray animals, hold them for 2 weeks the adopt them out. We occasionally have kittens, cats and dogs for adoption. All fees help in our efforts to get strays and pets fixed, as well as offsets the fees of vaccinations, microchips, flea meds, food, medicine, and any other veterinary needs.
