My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Matake is a cute male kitten who was brought to the HSOV on August 7, 2025 along with his four siblings (Button, Enoki, Lion's Mane and Toadstool) after they were found in Marietta Ohio. The kittens were estimated to have been 8-weeks old at that time.

This petite little guy has a brown tabby short smooth coat, a long ringed tail, and an adorable kitten face with golden eyes which are outlined in cream-colored eyeliner, a dusting of white on his muzzle, a brown velvet nose, and long white whiskers.

Matake was given vaccinations and wormer on August 27, 2025. He was given booster vaccines on September 12th and September 29th.

Matake and one of his brothers (Lion's Mane) are sharing a large cat tower with several other young kittens. His sister Enoki is currently sharing a double-wide cage in the Jungle Room (one of our adoptable cat rooms) with two of her new best friends (Portebello and Sir Topham). His brother Buttons is currently in foster care with a family who plans to adopt him after he is neutered. Sadly his brother Toadstool did not survive and passed away on October 10th 2025.

These photos of Matake were taken on October 23, 2025. This little boy was apprehensive about being separated from his tower of friends, and he could hardly wait to be reunited with them .. So he 'bit the bullet' and humored our photographer with several cute poses so that she would carry him back where he really wanted to be .. in the tower with his brother and new best friends.

Matake will be neutered in the near future (tentatively in November 2025) and will soon be ready to find a loving home .. Preferably with another kitten to keep him company and provide comfort/security as well as playtime.

Matake was neutered on November 3, 2025 and was also given rabies vaccine. He weighed 2.8 lbs that day.

Matake was adopted on November 20, 2025.
