My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Spackle was brought in by a community member.

Why Spackle might the one for you:
Spackle has the kind of eyes and face that say "will you be mine?" and you will want to answer "Yes". Spackle was in a foster home where he brought so much joy and comfort to them. They said Spackle was the whole package - affectionate, loyal and well-behaved. He is house trained. He knows sit and down and would like to learn more commands. His foster said that he is the perfect mix of being a cuddle buddy and guard dog all in one big lovable package. Spackle would thrive best in a calm, consistent environment without a lot of hustle and bustle - where his people understand his need for space and boundaries. Being a big dog, he will want space and a safe yard would be really nice for Spackle.
Spackle is also a bit of a local celebrity, having been featured on NBC 7 as their Pet of the Week!
If you're ready to give Spackle the loving and understanding home he deserves, he will reward you with loyal companionship.

At SDHS:
Spackle has been vaccinated, microchipped, neutered and is now ready for his new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
