My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sampson — the Gentle Giant With a Heart of Gold! 💛

At just 2 years old and 86 lbs of pure sweetness, 🥰 Sampson is the kind of dog who makes every day feel a little brighter. He’s a big, happy boy with an even bigger heart, and he’s ready to share it with a family of his very own! 💙

Sampson settled beautifully into foster care and quickly became best friends with his foster sister 💞 —they play, they nap, they do everything together. He’d absolutely love a home with another friendly dog, but he’d also thrive with humans who enjoy his goofy, affectionate energy. 🤗

This handsome guy is fully housebroken, and he’s doing great with his crate. He may give you a “do I have to?” 🤭 look at first, but he’s learning fast and improving every day. 💪 Sampson has lovely manners, listens well, and even comes when called. He’s relaxed and easygoing around food, toys, and bones—happy to share and never pushy.

Sampson enjoys yard time, gentle play, and hanging out with his people. He’s friendly with guests, respectful with other dogs, and just an all‑around good boy. 😉 His ideal home is one with a yard to explore and a family who appreciates a big, lovable companion who wants to be part of the fun. 💙

If you’re looking for a sweet, social, well‑mannered dog who’s already done so much of the hard work, Sampson might just be your perfect match. He’s ready to bring joy, laughter, and loyal companionship to his forever home. 🥰

Additional adoption info

Each pet that is available for adoption is in a foster home for a minimum of 2 weeks after being rescued. This allows the animal to decompress and show their true personality, which in turn helps us find their best match.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

Visit https://operationfreedomride.com/ and click "available pets" to see who is available for adoption.

Periodically we have adoption events around the greater Rochester, NY area; however, we largely rely on the application process to best match people/families with available pets and then set-up a meet and greet to make sure it's a great match before finalizing the adoption.
