My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Jordan!

Jordan came to ACC from a home with more than 40 cats after his owner became ill. With so many animals and so little individual interaction, he didn't have many opportunities to build confidence around people. Here at the shelter, Jordan is a very shy, quiet boy who prefers to stay tucked into his cubby. He tolerates gentle petting and is beginning to relax during calm interactions, sometimes closing his eyes softly as he adjusts to attention.

My Ideal Home

Jordan will thrive in a calm, patient home with adults who understand shy or under-socialized cats. He needs a quiet environment, predictable routines, and a safe space to retreat to while he slowly acclimates. Treats, soft voices, and low-pressure interactions will help him build trust over time.

Good with Kids?

An adult-only home is recommended. Jordan is easily overwhelmed and may be intimidated by noise or fast movement; he needs adopters who can read his cues and support his slow, steady progress.

Good with Other Pets?

Likely yes. Jordan previously lived with many cats and may benefit from a calm, well-socialized resident cat who can model positive interactions with people. Slow introductions are important so he doesn't feel pressured.

Overall Health

Jordan arrived with torn nails and paw pad wounds that have been treated and are healing well. He has been neutered, is up to date on routine care, and is doing well in our care. Staff will share any recommended follow-up with you.

Behavior Determination

Level 3 - Experienced Adopters. Jordan is a fearful, under-socialized adult cat who tolerates petting but stays very still when unsure. He will need time, patience, and gentle handling as he learns to feel secure in a home.

Other Fun Facts

Jordan is a thoughtful little observer who watches quietly from his safe spot. As he warms up, he leans gently into cheek rubs and shows moments of comfort that hint at the companionship he could offer once he feels safe. For adopters who enjoy helping a shy cat blossom, Jordan is a rewarding, heartfelt project and a sweet soul waiting for his first true home.
