My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Pepper!

This sweet girl is 8 weeks old and already melting hearts Pepper and her siblings were found abandoned in a field in Bakersfield at just 2 weeks old — no mama in sight, but they fought hard and survived thanks to rescue love!

We ran a DNA test and discovered they’re mostly German Shepherd and Samoyed — the perfect mix of brains, beauty, and loyalty.

Pepper is playful, loving, and ready to find her forever family (or a foster to help her grow!). She deserves the best start to her brand-new life.

Located in Ventura County

More about this shelter

Legacy of Love 805 is a nonprofit dog rescue dedicated to giving second chances to dogs in need. Based in Ventura, California, we are committed to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs of all breeds and backgrounds — especially those who are most vulnerable. Our mission is to ensure that every dog in our care receives the love, medical attention, and support they deserve while we work tirelessly to find them loving, forever homes.

Founded on the belief that every life matters, Legacy of Love 805 also emphasizes community education, responsible pet ownership, and the importance of spaying and neutering. Our dedicated team of volunteers, fosters, and adopters come together to make a lasting impact on each dog we save.

At Legacy of Love 805, we are more than just a rescue — we are a family, creating a legacy of hope, compassion, and second chances.
