Here's what the humans have to say about me:
🌟 MEET JAN — THE GENTLE BRINDLE GIRL WITH THE SOFTEST SOUL 🌟
Everyone… this is Jan, a 2-year-old hound mix with a beautiful brindle coat and an even more beautiful heart. 💕
Jan was surrendered and suddenly found herself in a completely new world — but even with all the changes, she remains calm, kind, and quietly hopeful. She sits so sweetly for her photos, tilts her head when you speak to her, and looks at you like she’s trying to understand every word you say. 🥹
At 40 lbs, Jan is the perfect medium-sized companion. She’s spayed, healthy, and ready to start fresh with someone who will love her gently and consistently.
Why you’ll fall in love with Jan:
✨ Soft, sweet, trusting personality
✨ Gorgeous brindle coat
✨ Calm energy — not jumpy, not pushy
✨ Loves people & appreciates every bit of kindness
✨ The kind of dog who blossoms when she feels safe
Jan doesn’t demand attention… she hopes for it. She’s the quiet girl who waits patiently, watching families walk by, wishing someone would stop and say, “Come home, Jan.” 💛
🐾 If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle companion who will truly appreciate having a home, Jan is waiting for you.

More about this shelter
A not-for-profit organization, Monroe County Friends of Animals help the County by raising funds to build a new facility for our animals. It is called the Eastbourne Animal Center and has now replaced the old Monroe County Animal Shelter. They provide volunteers, fundraising events, grant writing and more. There is always a need for more volunteers. With a small budget, donations are a welcome necessity. We have developed educational programs to promote spay/neuter and humane care of all animals.
