All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston. Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system. To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters. Our adoption fee varies by dog. We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Zelle, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only. A FTA contract is required.
This sweet girl was on a 'stray hold, owner notified' at BARC and owner failed to claim her. She sat in doggie jail twice as long as a non-chipped dog on the hope and expectation that the owner cared enough to go pick her up. Sadly, they did not. So, we were able to take legal custody of her and get her the help she needed. She has bi-lateral ear infections both ears. Fighting both bacteria and yeast. poor lamb.
She wasn't spayed, but is now!

Interview
Immediately upon receipt of your application, an auto-response email is sent. If you didn't get it, check SPAM. VET RECORDS ARE REQUIRED.
Home Check
You must send VET RECORDS. Home visits are required for puppies and first time pet owners
Meet the Pet
The whole family, including current pets must attend any Meet & Greet.
Sign Adoption Contract
All adoptions require a contract. You must promise to never rehome the pet. This is a lifetime commitment
