My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gordo is a friendly, wiggly dog who enjoys meeting new people and handles the shelter environment well. When approached at his kennel, he greeted calmly with a loose, happy body and was easy to leash. He walked down the aisle without reacting to other dogs and headed outside with confidence.

During a dog-to-dog introduction, Gordo initially showed some stiffness and had slightly raised hackles as he approached the other dog. Once the other dog relaxed and lay down in the grass, Gordo quickly followed suit—his body loosened, his tail wagged softly, and his hackles dropped. The two dogs exchanged play bows and took turns trying to chase each other, maintaining loose, friendly behavior throughout the interaction. Gordo returned to his kennel with no issues. He walked past other dogs without reacting, went right into his kennel, and was easy to unleash.

Gordo is a social, adaptable dog who benefits from calm introductions and quickly transitions into relaxed, playful behavior. He would do well in a home that can continue providing positive interactions and steady structure.

Adoptions are free and include support from our adoption team to ensure a smooth transition from the shelter to your home.
