My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Beautiful Raven and Hawk,KRLA-A-86443, had such a tragic start in life. Raven and her three siblings were rescued from a dangerous demolition site in a rough part of Panorama City. Their foster mom did everything she could to rescue them from this crime-ridden area. She ended up giving them all bird names to symbolize freedom from the broken world from which they came.

Today Raven and Hawk are blossoming in love and opening up more and more each day. Out of the 4 kittens rescued from this site, Raven and Hawk particularly had a difficult time trusting humans after the trauma they were exposed to and terrifying encounters with humans and the loss of their mother. Together they have been patiently and gently socialized by their caring foster mom. Eventually, they began to accept gentle pets and learned how to slowly begin to trust humans.

Raven is slower to warm up than her brother but once she feels comfortable she melts into your hand and loves chin scratches. She prefers tender, gentle, affection and calm cuddles, no flips or rough handling. Raven follows behind Hawk who has come a long way in learning to trust humans. Though a little awkward at times, they are both quickly learning the joy of being kittens: how to play, how to trust, and how to accept the love they were always meant for.

Raven and Hawk are not only bonded and inseparable, but also deeply grateful to their caretakers, and full of promise. With the right home filled with patience and care, they will grow into the most loving and amazing companions anyone could wish for.

Additional adoption info

We adopt animals to homes in the Los Angeles area and neighboring counties.

To help ensure that we place our cats in loving, responsible, committed homes, we have a screening process before you can adopt a pet from Kitten Rescue. We reserve the right to turn down potential adopters as we deem necessary. First, we ask that you complete our Adoption Questionnaire at kittenrescue.org/cat-adoption-form/. You can complete the form online or you may stop by a weekly adoption event to complete form in person. Second, a home visit or a home delivery of the cat or kitten is also required as part of our adoption process.

The Kitten Rescue adoption fee is $150 for a kitten or cat up to 10 years old, and $100 for each additional kitten or cat to the same household ($250 if you adopt a pair). Cats above 10 years old have a fee reduction of 50%, for an adoption fee of $75 each.

All of our cats have already been:
Spayed or neutered
Vaccinated – with at least one FVRCP vaccination
Treated for fleas
Dewormed
Tested for FeLV (Feline Leukemia) and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus)
Microchipped

More about this rescue

Kitten Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization devoted to finding loving homes for unwanted, homeless cats and kittens. We rescue cats and kittens from the streets of Los Angeles and from City Shelter euthanasia. Since our start in 1997, we have grown into one of the largest, most well-respected animal welfare groups in LA.

Kitten Rescue volunteers adopt out over 2,000 cats and kittens into homes every year. We educate the public about responsible pet guardianship, how to care for kittens and cats, and the importance of spaying and neutering. Kitten Rescue makes educational material available via events, print, school presentations and here on our website. We also provide Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) assistance for communities in and around Los Angeles, and teach people how to manage and care for feral cat colonies.
