My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gordon
I recently attended the Tinsel & Tails Petacular and was carried down the aisle by a volunteer. I was a big hit! According to everyone at the HSHC, I am a sweetheart. The staff and volunteers who regularly spend time with me find my personality easy to love. I arrived at the HSHC on October 4, having been found as a stray in Carmel. Though I am solid white with one black spot and a black tail, beneath my coat hid a horrible skin infection. My head, neck, and chest had to be shaved to treat the several lesions there. All I know for sure is that the medicine and TLC I`ve been given have made me feel significantly better. Today, the interviewer lady (IL) stopped by for another visit, and I was pleased as punch to see her. We get along so well that I immediately crawled out onto her lap, purring and making biscuits on her leg. It felt so good to have my neck and head scratched, even if she avoided my sore spots. She let me leave her lap to walk around the room for a bit. I love having the opportunity to stretch my legs. I let her pick me up to return me to my room without a bit of fuss. I am 8-years-old and eager to find my forever home. The IL tells me that I am way too friendly and charming to have been a stray all my life. I can`t wait for someone to take me home and love me. 11-26-25

More about this shelter

With an open admission policy, a No-Kill philosophy, and more than 3,100 animals crossing our threshold each year, we have still maintained a 98% placement rate over the last 3 years.

This is an amazing feat for any organization…let alone one that takes in some of the most abused, injured and seriously ill animals imaginable.
