My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sadie Mae is a 6-year-old pittie with a heart as big as her energy and a smile that can light up any room. She’s got one unique eye that gives her extra charm points, BTW is totally healthy, just one of the things that makes her stand out. So far, she hasn’t had a showing with anyone, and although she’s caught everyone’s eye with her charm, no one has yet expressed interest.

This girl LOVES to play. She’s happiest running around yards, zooming along fences with a buddy, and splashing in water whenever she gets the chance. Strong and energetic, she sometimes pulls on leash during potty breaks, but after she’s done, she is a dream to walk. Smart as a whip, she knows “sit,” takes treats gently, and loves pets, making her the ultimate cuddle negotiator. Toys are basically her best friends, and she’ll happily entertain herself while still soaking up attention. She’s independent, confident, and just a little jumpy in the cutest way. Sadie Mae is also playful, goofy, and knows how to bring the fun! She is gentle and affectionate when it’s cuddle time.

She’s done well with other dogs in introductions, so a chill dog sibling could be a blast! However, she’s also perfectly content flying solo and giving all her love to her humans. She does have a strong prey drive for small animals, so she’ll need an owner who can redirect her focus during walks, but she’s eager to learn and responds well to positive training.

Full of personality, smarts, and love, Sadie Mae is ready to find a forever home where she can run, splash, snuggle, and bring endless joy to the people lucky enough to meet her. This little diva with a giant heart is ready for her forever family... someone to appreciate her quirks, playful vibes, and endless affection.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

*The shelter is currently open for adoptions by appointment only. Please email us at adoptycas@gmail.com if you are interested in adopting.
For other shelter services, please call us at (530) 668-5287*

To adopt you must have a photo ID and proof of your current address. If not on your ID then bring in a bill with your name and your current address. If you rent you must provide a lease clearly stating the pet policy or provide a name and phone number for your landlord so that we may confirm the pet policy. If you own your home you may provide a mortgage statement or property tax bill for proof.

You must be 18 years or older to adopt.

If you wish to adopt a dog and have other dog(s) at home, please bring them with you to the shelter so that they may meet. Even if your dog is wonderful with other dogs, many of the dogs at the shelter have come in as strays so we have no history on them and need to be sure they get along with your pet(s).

If you have any other questions, please go to www.yolocountysheriff.com or call the shelter for more information.
