Hi there, I’m Mickey — a dapper 13-year-old tuxedo gentleman with bright green eyes, a distinguished “Batman” mask, and ears that stand tall and straight like a little Boston Terrier. I may look like a superhero, but my real power is love! I’m a total snugglebug who lives for head scratches, cozy laps, and gentle affection. I just want to be your best friend and share all the love I have left to give.

I’ve tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), but don’t let that scare you — FIV+ cats like me can live long, healthy, and happy lives! It’s not contagious to humans or other animals and is mainly spread in cats through deep bites, so I can safely share a home with calm, friendly cats like myself. I also take daily medication for hyperthyroidism, but I’m a pro at it — just tuck my pill in a tasty treat, and I’ll happily gobble it down.

I’ve got so much love to give and just need someone kind enough to take a chance on me. Could that be you?

Approve Application

Adoption applications will be reviewed during shelter hours (Tue-Sat, 12-5.) We reserve the right to deny an application for any reason.

Interview

During the Adoption Interview, we will discuss your living situation, your needs, and how you plan to provide a happy home for a cat.

Sign Adoption Contract

Pay Fee

Adoption Fees: Kittens under 1 year old: $125, Cats 1- 8 years old: $99, Senior cats, 8+ years: $69, Seniors (8+) for Seniors (62+): $25

Take the Pet Home

If you plan to adopt, please bring a carrier with you for your new kitty! Otherwise a cardboard carrier may be provided.

Additional adoption info

Prior to Adoption, all HART cats or kittens will have had:

*Spay or Neuter
*Vaccinations
*Worming, de-fleaing and de-miting
*A medical exam
*Microchip
*Collar and ID tag - your pet is registered with HART Health records
*Tips and guidelines for introducing your new pet into your home.
*A cardboard carrier - or you can bring your own carrier at the time of adoption.

HART is a hands-on volunteer organization working to make a difference in our community of San Luis Obispo County by rescuing abandoned animals, trapping and neutering stray and feral cats, and fostering sick and needy animals until we can find the best matched homes for them. Our unique cage-fee shelter allows cats to roam freely and socialize with each other. We are a no-kill shelter.
