My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tarah is a 6YO cutie who’s equal parts energetic and affectionate. She likes to hop up to say “hi!” because she’s that excited to be around people. With her happy dancing, prancing, and tail wagging, she brings her own cheerful energy wherever she goes. Despite all that pep, Tarah’s true love is you. She craves affection, melts into pets, and is happiest when she’s soaking up attention. She isn’t big on toys or treats - the real reward for her is being by your side.

If you’re looking for a joyful, scruffy companion who’s bursting with personality and affection, Tarah is ready to dance her way right into your heart.

More about this shelter

We are an open admission, municipal shelter serving the unincorporated area of Fort Bend County, TX.

We are the county's rabies control authority as well as being their animal shelter. On average, we take in approximately 4,000-5,000 pets per year.

The staff at FBCAS is small but each and every one of us is dedicated to making the stay of the pets in our care as comfortable as possible. Our hearts are in this and with every pet that crosses our threshold.

We are part of the amazing Fort Bend County community and we are always striving to work with our community people and partners to make our shelter the best it can be.

We can always use new volunteers to help us keep our pets happy and healthy while they wait for their forever home.

We hope that you will find your new love at our shelter - we always have so many to choose from!
