Name: Brunhilda
Nicknames: Brunee. Hildy.
Breed: Boxer/Bulldog mix
Weight: 80 lbs of pure kidney-bean swag
Age: 2-3 years
Doppelgänger: Peter Pan’s Shadow. She's always just a step behind her person.
Before OMD: Once a stray, now a survivor with a heart full of love, BrunHilda’s journey took her from the shelter to OMD...and she’s been making hearts melt ever since.
Energy Level: Medium-High. She can be both ends of the spectrum honestly. She can lay with you for a few hours on the couch or she'll also play for as long as you'll let her.
What we love: She is a gentle soul wrapped in a playful, Boxer-bodied package. Her mesmerizing eyes, adorable bunny-hop bounce, and sweet paw swats make her impossible not to love. She takes treats so delicately you’ll wonder if she even has teeth (she does!). She’s a mix of goofball energy and tender affection—a “bull in a china shop” who apologizes the moment she bumps the china.
What she loves: She adores her people, her fur friends, and cozy snuggles. At night, she’ll curl up close - either in her bed beside yours or right against you if you’ll let her. A reassuring pet is all she needs to know she’s safe and you are there.
Her least favorite things: She’s learning that car rides are less scary when she figures out balance.
Housebroken: She’s housebroken when on a schedule and may have a nervous accident or two when settling in, but patience and love go a long way.
Dogs: BrunHilda loves dogs (especially those who can handle her exuberant friendship!) and was a rockstar in playgroup when she was in the shelter. We think she would thrive with a canine companion.
Cats: Not sure yet.
Kids: Most likely older ones due to her size and zest for life.
Favorite song: “The Fate of Ophelia" - because she’s 100 on the land!
Brunhilda is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative and microchipped. She is available for adoption to residents of CT, IL and their surrounding states. Please complete an application if interested.
