Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
    1. If you have questions on the cat, your question will get a quicker response if you submit an application.
  2. Interview
    1. Pls ensure you can provide a long term stable home for your future pet. Have a back up plan if you suddenly have to give up your pet.
  3. Meet the Pet
    1. Most of our cats are in private foster homes. If the cat is on our website (www.DextersKitties.org) that means the cat is still available.
  4. Approve Application
    1. If you own your home pls confirm it matches public records. If you rent pls provide landlord information so we can confirm pets are allowed.
  5. Sign Adoption Contract
  6. Pay Fee
    1. We ask for a donation to help cover fostering expenses. Cash, check, PayPal, Credit Card, Venmo and Zelle are accepted.
  7. Take the Pet Home
    1. Please bring a proper cat carrier with you. Make sure you have a dedicated bathroom to socialize your cat slowly to your home.

Our cats are mostly located in private foster homes throughout Orlando.

More about this rescue

Welcome to Dexter's Kitties! It is our mission to end the suffering and euthanasia of homeless cats by rescuing, spaying and neutering, and helping to find every adoptable cat a loving, permanent home.

Dexter’s Kitties, Inc. was formed by a small group of passionate animal lovers in the Lake Nona area who realized we are Stronger Together.

Our goals include:
Educate the public on the importance of early spay/neuter of personal pets and community cats

Support community Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) of feral cats by providing coaching, traps, and financial assistance to neighborhood volunteers

Recruit and support foster families to help domesticate adoptable cats by providing coaching, emotional support, and financial assistance for feline medical services

Find permanent homes for adoptable rescue cats

Support community volunteers in the care of cat colonies
