Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Come and meet your Destiny! At just 1.5 years old and 54 pounds, Destiny is a beautiful example of how patience, love, and understanding can change a life. When she first arrived back in September, Destiny was overwhelmed and unsure, especially around new people. With time, a consistent training plan, plenty of treats, and lots of gentle encouragement, she has truly begun to blossom.
Destiny knows how to sit, takes treats politely, and has a playful side that’s starting to shine. Once she feels comfortable, she leans in close for affection and absolutely melts for chin and neck scratches. While she can be cautious when meeting new people, she’s looking for someone willing to help boost her confidence and continue her journey at her own pace.
If you’re searching for a loyal companion and believe in celebrating small victories and big hearts, Destiny just might be the one you’ve been waiting for!

More about this shelter
The Humane Society of Harford County, Inc., located in Fallston, Maryland, is a non-profit, open-admission animal support organization dedicated to providing shelter and care to the homeless, abandoned and abused animals of Harford County. We provide a safe and healthy temporary shelter and seek loving, permanent homes to ensure the long-term welfare of the animals we serve. Through education and advocacy, we promote the humane treatment of companion animals and work toward reducing, and ultimately eliminating, pet overpopulation in the county through low-cost spay and neuter programs.
We have welcomed more than 300,000 animals since 1946 and provide service to the community in conjunction with animal control to safeguard public health and safety. We strive to promote the special bond between humans and their companion pets in securing forever homes for our animals.
The Humane Society of Harford County serves nearly 4,000 animals each year. The animals include dogs, cats, ponies, birds, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, bearded dragons, lizards, snakes, spiders, iguanas, turtles, ducks, turkeys, chickens, goats and pigs, to name a few. The majority of the animals we receive are cats (and kittens) and dogs (and puppies).
