Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Come meet me and 100+ of my adoptable friends at Louie's Legacy Animal Rescue's MEGA adoption event, Home for the Holidays! Saturday, December 13th, 2025 at Paradise Island in Staten Island from 11am - 3pm!
Meet Misty! Misty is a five-year-old, 38 pound Blue Heeler.
Misty’s heart is as big as her personality! She’s affectionate, playful, and happiest when she’s close to her people—whether that means cuddling on the couch, giving gentle kisses, or enjoying playtime.
Misty is brilliant and eager to learn, mastering “sit” on her very first day. She’s completely housebroken, gets along wonderfully with other dogs, and although she can be a little shy at first, she warms up quickly with kindness and love. Misty lives to please and absolutely beams when told she’s a good girl.
True to her Heeler nature, Misty is intelligent, loyal, and thrives when she has something new to learn or do. She would love an adopter who will keep her mind and body active with adventures, training, or even a “job” to call her own.
Misty isn’t picky when it comes to toys or treats—every new toy and treat instantly becomes her favorite. If you’re searching for a devoted companion who will greet you with full-body wiggles, endless affection, and snuggles galore, Misty may be your perfect match!
Misty is currently being fostered in Ewing, NJ. Her adoption fee is $475.

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
