My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Eva was brought in by a community member.

Why Eva might be the one for you:
Eva is a shy girl who is coming out of her shyness shell. She is in a foster home where she was shy until a tennis ball was introduced to her. She came alive with the tennis ball and she has become part of the family as she loves her walks and spending time in the yard. She needs loving people who will help her build her confidence and trust. She understands basic commands and is anxious to learn more. Eva will try her hardest to obey and be a good dog if she knows what is expected of her. She will thrive in an environment where she hears lots of sincere "good dog, Eva" words. She will quickly learn that a treat is a reward for good behavior and she will want lots of treats. Eva will take some upfront time, training and understanding but both you and she will be so proud when you declare her to be "the best dog ever". Do you have the time and understanding to help Eva become your loyal and friendly new companion?

At SDHS:
Eva has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed neutered. Eva is now ready for their new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
