My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🌟 Meet Dove
Hi, I’m Dove — a quiet, gentle soul with the most stunning green eyes you’ve ever seen (once you catch me peeking out 💚). When I first arrived at FOHA, the world felt very big and very scary. I spent most of my time hiding, watching from afar, just trying to understand if I was truly safe.
Little by little, something beautiful has happened.
Thanks to patient volunteers, kind staff, and a whole lot of love, I’ve learned that the people I meet here are full of acceptance and gentleness. These days, you’ll see me out of hiding more and more — observing from cozy corners, watching the room, and slowly choosing connection on my own terms. Every step forward feels like a victory, and FOHA couldn’t be prouder of how far I’ve come.
🐾 A Few of My Favorite Things:
Temptations crunch treats are life for me — truly the key to my heart and confidence-building journey. I enjoy calm environments, soft voices, and gentle interactions. While busy shelter life can feel overwhelming, I’ve shown a surprising fondness for older, calm children who understand how to move slowly and respectfully. (The calm part is very important!) I’m also growing more comfortable around my feline roommates and would likely do well as a single cat or with another friendly cat who can help show me the ropes.
🏡 What I’m Looking For:
I’m looking for a patient, loving home that understands that confidence doesn’t always come loudly. A quiet space, gentle hands, and a human who celebrates small wins would be perfect for me. If you have another cat or a dog in the home, I will go home as foster with intent to adopt so you can see how things go! With time and love, I promise to continue blossoming into the wonderful cat I’m meant to be.
💛 Ready to fall in love?
If you believe that the softest souls are often the most special, I just might be your girl.
