This sweet gal is Maxie. Maxie lost her owner and ended up in a shelter. She had been through so much and when she came to us, we found out she was Heartworm positive. Maxie definitely deserved a chance to live out her golden years so went through the extensive work up to prepare her for the treatment. Heartworm treatment is a several month process and is very hard and uncomfortable. There is also no guarantee the treatment would work or that she would survive. Maxie was a real trooper through the whole treatment and was one of the lucky ones that survived. She is now Heartworm negative and ready for her forever home ! Maxie will need to be on Heartworm preventive year round for the rest of her life and be tested for Heartworm on a regular basis. Maxie loves people and does well with dogs her size. Children 12 or older. She would love a home where someone is home most of the time. She is very loving and enjoys leisurely walks. Home Check
If you application is approved, the foster family will make arrangements with you do to a meet and greet and home visit.
