Dog Test: (No Dogs) Midnight is shy and would be best in a home with no dogs.
Cat Test: (Okay with Cats) Midnight gets along with other cats here at the shelter.
Kid Test: (Okay with Kids) Midnight would be just fine in a home with kids.
Litter Box Trained:(Uses Litter Box) Midnight keeps a clean kennel.
Energy Level: (Medium) Midnight is a lovely black cat with a gentle soul. She’s a bit shy at first, but once she feels safe, her sweet and loving personality begins to shine. Midnight enjoys the company of other cats and can often be found tucked away in a cozy hidey hole, quietly observing her surroundings. She’s slowly gaining confidence and exploring more each day. With a little patience and love, Midnight will blossom into a loyal and affectionate companion.

Our shelter is open 7 days a week. (Excluding holidays).
Monday- Friday 8am-5pm
Saturday- Sunday 10am-2pm
We ask that you come visit any time between open and no later than 30 minutes prior to closing. This ensures that staff will have enough time to assist you in meeting one of our great furry friends!

More about this shelter
We are a Municipal Animal Shelter for the City of Lee's Summit. We house animals brought in by Lee's Summit Animal Control Officers and Blue Springs Animal Control Officers.
Animals are also brought to us by owners that can no longer keep the animal or by strays that were impounded for running loose.
When an animal comes in as a stray, it is held for 5 days to give the owner a chance to claim it. If the owner does not claim it, on the 6th day it is put up for adoption or foster. During this 5 day holding period, if a potential adopter would like to adopt the animal, they are welcome to sign up on the adoption list. The names on the adoption list are contacted on the 6th day if no owner has made claim.
If there are no names on the adoption list, then the animal will become first come, first served when available for adoption.
