Here's what the humans have to say about me:
NOTE: JAX IS WITH HIS PEOPLE IN CLOVIS, CA. GSRSV HAS NOT MET JAX. WE ARE LISTING HIM ON THIS WEBSITE ALONG WITH OUR OWN DOGS TO GIVE HIM MORE ADOPTION EXPOSURE. PLEASE SEE END OF THIS PROFILE FOR CONTACT INFO.
"Jax" is a 95-lb, nearly 4-yo neutered male GSD-Husky who is loving, loyal and energetic. Jax is healthy, up-to-date on core vaccinations, and microchipped.
Jax shadows his “mom (Amri) and adores her 13-yo daughter. He loves nothing more than to lie at their feet while they watch TV. He loves affection and playing keep away.
Jax is initially protective of his people (barks) when meeting strangers, both in the house and beyond, but settles down quickly and is then very sweet and enjoys being handled. Jax has yet to be around young children, but is great with the 13-yo girl he lives with.
Jax is good with other dogs and has done well at a doggy daycare. He does not have any experience with small dogs.
Jax has never been around cats, but doesn’t seem to pay them much mind when he sees them on walks. Still, it would be best that Jax go to a home without cats.
Jax is housetrained and is good when left inside unattended and uncrated for extended periods (though he does bark a bit initially).
Jax is very smart and obeys several commands, including “sit,” “stay,” “come,” “let go,” “friend,” “neighbors,” and even “no barking at babies.” When it comes to walks, he does pull hard on the leash.
Jax loves going for car rides but he is fairly bouncy and vocal while riding.
Jax likes water but has never been brought to a body of water to swim. He likes playing fetch, keep-away, and chewing on his Kong.
Amri and her family were gifted Jax when he was eight weeks old. Though she and her daughter truly love Jax, Amri has a chronic pain disorder that makes taking him for walks extremely difficult and stressful for her, and she is in a lot of pain afterwards. Since they live in an apartment and walks are so hard, Jax doesn’t get the exercise and stimulation he needs. So, Amri is reluctantly seeking a home for Jax in which he’ll be able to live a more active life.
Jax is located in Clovis, CA. His adoption fee is $100.
Please contact Amri Aguirre at 559-387-7059 or amriaguirre@gmail.com.

GSRSV became a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, charitable organization in March 2013. All donations to GSRSV are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
Since February 2001, Brian Foran has funded GSRSV primarily on his own. Donations have played--and continue to play--a huge part in keeping GSRSV afloat, as adoption fees are a drop-in-the-bucket compared with the costs of running a large rescue program.
To make a monetary donation, please go to the donation page on GSRSV's Website: www.gsrsv.org/DonationsNeeded.htm.
Thanks for your support!

Because I am an independent rescuer caring for many dogs, I am presently unable to conduct regular adoption or "meet & greet" events.
I only arrange for people to meet the dogs that I have available for adoption after I have discussed the dog and have received an adoption questionnaire from them.

More about this rescue
German Shepherd Rescue of Sacramento Valley (GSRSV) is an organization dedicated to finding good homes for German Shepherd Dogs (GSDs) at risk of being placed in shelters, or who are already in shelters and possibly facing euthanasia. GSRSV is an independent rescue organization operated by one individual: Brian Foran. Though countless volunteers and benefactors have supported--and continue to support--GSRSV, I run and primarily fund the program, as I have since February 2001.
