My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

About me: My name is Pongo, and I’m a tiny guy with a big heart. I weigh just 8 pounds, making me the perfect little companion to have by your side (or trotting behind you to see what you’re up to).
I haven’t had the easiest start in life and came from a situation where I didn’t get to learn what love and trust feel like. But with patience and kindness, I’m learning that people can be pretty wonderful! I’m a senior pup looking to spend my golden years surrounded by love, comfort, and gentle care.
If you’re looking for a quiet companion who just needs a little extra patience and love, Pongo might be the perfect match for you. Help this sweet senior discover what a real forever home feels like!

Likes: Having access to my x-pen — it’s my safe spot when I feel a little unsure.
Following my people around the house to stay close and see what’s happening.

My Dislikes: Being picked up or chased — I’m still learning to trust, and sudden movements make me nervous. My foster family is helping me build confidence every day.

Special Considerations:
I have a Grade 5 heart murmur and elevated liver enzymes, so I’ll need a vet to keep an eye on those.
I may also need dental work in the future if my vet recommends it.

Dogs: Yes! I love playing and running around the yard with my canine friends.

Cats: I haven’t met any yet, so we’re not sure how I’d do.

Children: I’d do best in a home without young children — or with older, respectful ones — since I’m so small and still learning to feel safe.

Kennel trained: Yes! I find comfort and security in my crate.

House trained: I’m working on it! I go outside with the other dogs but still use a pee pad in my x-pen sometimes. I ask to come back in when I’m done.

More about this rescue

Infinite Woofs Animal Rescue Society is a foster home based Animal Rescue located in Edmonton, Alberta. We rescue, rehabilitate and re-home unwanted, abused and neglected animals and find them their forever homes. We are different from other animal rescues in that we will try our best to not only help cats and dogs but any pet animal that has been unwanted, abused or neglected subject to our volunteers, foster homes and donations. This is one of the many reasons iwars needs you!

Infinite Woofs Animal Rescue Society is a no-kill animal rescue organization. We will help out any of the animals we take into care with any medical treatments, procedures and medications they may need. We will only euthanize when it is with a qualified veterinarians advice such as terminal illnesses where the animal is suffering. Every animal that comes into iwars is a member of the family.

We need volunteers to help in all different areas of iwars and with your help we can help to save more animals lives. We here at strive to save one animal at a time and acknowledge that "saving one animal will not change the world but surely for that one animal the world will change forever" - Unknown.
