My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi Everyone,

On Friday, September 19th, a woman dropped off a little kitten at a feed store in hopes that someone would rescue it. Apparently she found the kitten in her chicken coop. It had a very dirty wound on its hind foot where it was missing some toes. A message came through to a Dirty Little Paws Rescue Foster familiy and the kitten was picked up. Within 15 minutes, the kitten was in an exam room. A Veterinarian at Valley Center Veterinary Clinic was so amazing to squeeze us in for an appointment and stayed late in order to see him. She determined that the kitten was a 6 week old baby boy and that he had a wound on his foot where he was missing two toes that needed to be clipped and cleaned so it could properly heal and not require an amputation. Baby kitty was only 1.17 pounds, dirty, hungry and covered with fleas. He was given medicine and taken home to recover in a loving foster home. Baby kitty was given the name Jasper. He was no longer homeless and was finally safe. Jasper’s foster family fed him goats milk by bottle, gives him lots of wet food, surrounds him with lots of toys, and plays and snuggles with him every day. He has even met the resident senior cat and has gone nose to nose and even attempted to snuggle with him. Even though Jasper had a painful and difficult beginning of his life, he is now a happy, thriving and playful kitten. His missing toes don't keep him from running, jumping, climbing and playing. Jasper is 11 ½ weeks old and 3 lb as of October 28, 2025. He is finally ready for his forever home and he can’t wait to meet his new family. Will you be the one to open your heart and home to this beautiful and amazing little kitten?

So if you feel like you can be that caring and loving purrent, please reach out to Dirty Little Paws Rescue at Dirtylittlepaws@gmail.com or fill out my adoption questionnaire. I can hardly wait to be part of your life.

Dirty Little Paws is a non-profit rescue in Southern California. We rescue from kill shelters and from the street, manage feral colonies, and promote TNR (trap, neuter, release). We need your help! Please adopt a pet from a Rescue. If you can't adopt, please foster. If you can't foster, please donate.

At Dirty Little Paws our mission is to save the lives of as many cats as possible. We respond to daily emergencies, fully vet each cat, release ferals back into their colonies, rehabilitate some, make sick cats well, hold adoption fairs, educate the public, and place a strong emphasis on sourcing donations through events & fundraisers so that this work may continue.
