My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Roxanne Butterfly is a tiny tux with a big heart.

Sweet and smart, tough and determined, this mama kitty managed to keep her babies safe from predators hidden in a rocky ravine in River Oaks. She was smart enough to bring those babies to a teacher’s house living next to the ravine so her babies would be safer still, trapped, fostered and loved. She had a jaunty, rocking gait when she came to be fed and would fall over when vigorously rubbing her savior’s ankles. She wasn’t hurt, she was just different…perhaps a congenital condition with the tendons in her back legs, the vet said. So she was named for a French tap dancer living in NYC. Elegant in black and white, she just looked French.

She is bonded with one of her kittens, Greta, as Greta is devoted to her mother…watching out for her as mama watched out for her and her siblings out in the very real and scary outdoors. Roxanne loves to play and a jingle toy can bring her dancing into the room, and Greta won’t be too far behind.

Mama Roxanne tested positive for FIV, but Greta and her siblings did not. As the principal lead in their little troupe, Roxanne is a class act and she and Greta would love to be the stars of your home production!
