Meet Maverick: The Gentle Adventurer with a Heart of Gold
Maverick is a sweet, shy, and calm little gentleman who loves nothing more than the simple luxuries of life—good meals, cozy naps, and the comfort of companionship. With his laid-back nature and quiet charm, he’s the kind of kitten who melts your heart without even trying. But don’t let his mellow personality fool you—Maverick has a determined streak that makes him a true adventurer at heart.
When he first arrived in foster care, Maverick had to be quarantined from the other kittens, but that didn’t stop him from finding creative ways to sneak out! At just three weeks old, this clever boy was scaling his foster dad’s ties to climb to the top of the closet, then leaping down from four feet high to try to join his friends. Maverick may be calm and gentle, but he hates to be alone—he wants to be right where the action (and the love) is. He’ll definitely need another kitty companion in his forever home, and he would be especially thrilled to be adopted with one of his brothers— especially Cheesy Bean Purrito! Cheesy is his very best buddy and constant sidekick.
Maverick is still learning to trust humans fully, so he’ll thrive in a calm, patient home where he’s given time and gentle encouragement to blossom. Once he knows he’s safe, his affectionate side shines through—he enjoys being petted and will happily curl up near you. He loves chasing toy mice and batting a ball around the track. And of course, showing off his amazing jumping skills. Maverick has met many cats and loves feline friends, but he’s not so fond of dogs. Due to his shy and gentle nature, young kids might be overwhelming for him, but he could do well with older children who can be gentle and patient with him.
Maverick is a wonderfully loving, silly, high-jumping boy who has already shown incredible resilience and determination.
