Lyra is a smart, determined, and loving girl! Lyra loves kicker toys, springs, and chasing anything that jingles. She has lots of fun playing with her siblings, especially her sister Isla. Lyra loves to come up on the bed for a cuddle first thing in the morning, but she may need some help getting up/down. Lyra was born with Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH), commonly known as wobbly kitten syndrome, which is a congenital neurological condition that can cause tremors, wobbling, and uncoordinated movements. CH is not contagious, is not progressive, and does not cause any pain to affected cats. Cats and kittens with CH have normal life expectancies, although they will need attentive families who can make accommodations for their special needs. Lyra is able to run, play, and climb, however she may need smaller steps to get up on beds and couches, and soft areas for landing in case of falls from high places. Lyra gets along well with other cats and kittens. She has been a bit shy at first on playdates with young children who are used to being around animals, but she warms up and makes friends when she is allowed to go at her own pace. We're not sure how Lyra feels about dogs. Lyra is bonded with her sister Isla and they MUST be adopted together.
Kittens under the age of nine months MUST have another age-appropriate cat or dog in their home, or as otherwise noted. PRIORITY WILL BE GIVEN TO SUITABLE APPLICATIONS FOR SIBLINGS.
As we often receive numerous applications for each cat or kitten, we will only contact applicants who best suit the needs of the cat or kitten. Finding the best home for our cat or kitten is our top priority. Applications are not first come, first served.

More about this rescue
Home at Last Rescue (HALR) is a Registered Canadian Charity, that is 100% volunteer driven. Our goal is to rescue cats from substandard living conditions and give them the loving homes they deserve.
We provide medical care, emotional support and a loving environment while preparing them to find their forever homes. With no physical location, all of our cats and kittens reside in loving foster homes across the Greater Toronto Area until they are ready for adoption.
We receive no government funding and rely solely on adoption fees, donations and our fundraising efforts to support our initiatives. We believe there is a home for every cat and a cat for every home.
