"Hi there! My name is LUTHER. It’s one day closer to Christmas and I still don't have a forever home! 🥺 Seeing other doggy pals leave with families makes me SO hopeful that my turn will soon come! 🏠🎁
Shelter staff and volunteers say I’m a handsome 2-1/2 year old, male Shepherd/Pyrenees mix (sounds important, right?). They also tell me my dreamy brown eyes are heart melters!
A little about me:
❤️ People? LOVE them! I am happiest when I'm right next to my people. 👫
💚 Dogs? Oh yes! I adore running around the yard with my pals.🐕
❤️ Walks? Count me in! Nothing beats sniffing the outdoors alongside my favorite human. 👣
💚 Cats? Well… they’re a bit mysterious to me. The shelter resident cats hiss and give me the "go away" look, so I politely do! 😅🐈
❤️ Potty manners? They say I "seem" potty trained, like the goodest boy!

The shelter is located at 589 Coolwater Drive in Bastrop Texas. Please come meet our pets Wednesday through Sunday from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm

The Bastrop Animal Control organization became a reality in 1998. We've grown since then and continue to do so as Bastrop County grows. Currently, we have 3 separate buildings containing a total of 90 large indoor/outdoor kennels and 8 play yards. We have 30 indoor cat kennels. We also have a 3 room cattery, that enables cats to live together in colony type environments until they find their forever home. If you have ever worked with or adopted a shelter pet, you know just how much they crave the attention and love we and our volunteers can provide and their eternal gratitude when they find their forever home at last.
