I would like to introduce Elly, who came to SAYR by way of the Montgomery County Animal Service, Maryland. She had been a stray. Elly is a bright, kind and sweet 5 pound, 5-year-old. She came to me by way of a 4-seater Cessena - wow, Elly!

She likes a calm environment and has already staked out her own retreat (the top of a chair in my bedroom). Elly is getting acquainted with her 16-year old female Yorkie housemate. Elly shows understanding of the other dog’s condition by trying to herd her

Elly is staying with Amy in Madison, CT.

1. Fill out an adoption application on our website.
2. We contact the adopter for an interview.
3. We REQUIRE a home visit.
4. Our adoption donation is usually $250 to $500 for a dog but may be more if the dog is very young.
5. There is a legal contract that must be signed. The Yorkie can never be sold, given away or dropped at a shelter. We ALWAYS want our Yorkie back.

We are Yorkshire Terrier rescue. We help people find the Yorkie they have been looking for and we help the people who have a Yorkie they cannot keep. We work in PA, NJ, WESTERN NY, DE, MD and sometimes other states as necessary. Yorkies are our passion - the big ones, the old ones, the sick ones. The Yorkies no one else will take. We vet them and find loving homes.
