Otto is a 2 year old, 55-lb hound who was rescued emaciated from a highway and nursed back to health. He's now a striking, athletic boy with a ton of energy, a big heart, a goofy love of wrestling and running with other dogs, no interest in coexisting peacefully with cattle, and a habit of curling up for cuddles once he's had his exercise.
Otto still shows some of the food guarding he developed while starving and hasn't had formal training yet, but he's smart, social, and eager to learn. He'll do best in a home with other playful dogs, lots of room to run, and patient humans who can help him build on the progress he’s already made.
Otto's owner got him a vasectomy before surrendering him to Helpless Hounds, so while he is unable to reproduce, he is not neutered, so it's important to keep in mind that he may still display some typical intact-male behaviors. Think: enthusiastic sniff investigations, “I must check out that tree immediately” moments, a little extra interest in other dogs, and the occasional dramatic daydream about trotting off on an adventure. Not a bad boy- just a sharp, agile, lovable himbo with a heart of gold and mayyyyybe a flair for mischief.
