Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Zeke is a super sweet 9 month old, 55 lbs husky lab mix. Zeke is the sweetest, most playful boy. He loves every person he comes in contact with. He loves children and other dogs. Zeke's wish list includes a playful young dog pal who will run around the backyard with him and/or an active family. He loves to cuddle but he is not a couch potato and needs to be active and get exercised daily. He currently lives with 2 other dogs, 1 cat and 2 young children. Zeke loves long walks and a game of fetch in the backyard. As playful as he is, he's also the perfect snuggle buddy. He is house trained and walks well on a leash. Zeke truly is the perfect companion. Zeke is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped.
We require adopters to have a safe and secure backyard - not electric or Fido fences as they are not as safe at containing dogs or keeping other animals or people out. For these reasons we do not adopt to homes with electric or Fido fencing.
The adoption fee is $500, which includes age appropriate vaccines, microchip, monthly flea, tick and heart worm preventatives at time of adoption.

More about this rescue
Gimme Shelter Animal Rescue is a 501c3 nonprofit organization based on Long Island NY. We rescue dogs and puppies who are at risk of being euthanized in high-kill facilities across the South. Every animal we rescue is quarantined where they get vaccinated and given any medical attention needed to get them healthy. We then transport the animals up to NY where they go into our wonderful foster homes until we find them all pre screened loving forever homes. We will adopt out-of-state on a case by case basis, including, but not limited to, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Pennsylvania.
Our goal is to find the best possible homes for our animals, to ensure a life-long loving commitment. We are dedicated to the well-being of our animals. One by One until there are none!
