My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Kenya!

Kenya is a calm and affectionate female dog weighing 55 pounds. Her soulful eyes and gentle nature reflect a loving heart and a peaceful spirit.

She is social, patient, and deeply devoted to her people. Kenya prefers quiet companionship over play, often choosing cuddles and attention from humans rather than interaction with other dogs. Her mellow energy makes her the perfect couch buddy for a relaxed household. She will need to be the only dog in the household.

Kenya’s daily routine includes gentle walks and plenty of lounging.

Her sweet disposition and tender spirit make her an ideal companion for someone seeking a peaceful and loving presence. Kenya will thrive in a home that offers her warmth, affection, and a cozy spot to rest her paws.

Kenya`s adoption is fee-waved, AND she is going home with a $500 credit at Pender Veterinary Practice for continuing care, thanks to our Friends of the Fairfax County Animal Shelter!

This pet is eligible for an Adoption Audition. What is an Adoption Audition? It’s a five-day, no-strings-attached trial adoption period. You can take this pet home to try it out. Interested? Come to the shelter any time during open hours and talk to one of our Customer Care staff.

If you`d like to meet our available pets, please check the `shelter information` box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours. Both of our locations are open Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 12 to 5 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays from 12 to 7 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information on our adoption process, including requirements and fees, visit www.fairfaxcounty.gov/animalshelter/adopt.
