Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Leo is a playful, silly and handsome 3-year-old boy looking for his forever home!
This handsome fellow has a big personality! He is not afraid to tell you how he feels, whether it’s head butting you for pets or chatting with you about his day. He loves following his humans around, whether they’re getting ready for work, cleaning or any other tasks; he wants to be involved in all of your activities!
His favorite things are: cuddling with his humans during TV-watching and bed time, lounging on his window shelf, and anything involving food and treats. He is a cat that loves being up high rather than down below, so a cat tree or vantage point up above will be his favorite spot in your home.
Leo’s energy level is medium to high level; he would thrive in a home with another cat for this reason. He enjoys playing (especially with wand toys), being chased around corners, and making a toy out of the most unexpected items (his favorite is a cherry tomato). This young athlete can jump extremely high and run so fast; the zoomies are his favorite way to get his energy out!
This sweet boy adores his meal times and is very food-motivated. Due to this, he may ask for breakfast at earlier times and may be sassy with a few tiny nips when he does not get it. We are working on being patient, respecting boundaries, and adjusting his meal times to keep him satisfied and meet his needs. He is a good boy with a busy play schedule who just loves his healthy breakfast!
Leo currently lives in a one-bedroom apartment with just one human and no other pets in the home. He would thrive in any type of living situation as long as he has plenty of love and attention with a human who is around a lot, along with another feline friend to share high-energy play and fun adventures with him.
He warms up to new people quickly (especially with treats) so a home with a moderate energy level and new faces is fine with him! Could that new face be you?
Interested in adopting or learning more about this cat? Please fill out Pet Haven’s adoption application: http://bit.ly/2fd9U2Fpethavenmnwww..org/adopt.
All ages and breeds are a best estimate. Adoption fees include a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.
All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated. Cats are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow-up visits.

Pet Haven is a foster-based rescue. Our animals live with foster families until they are placed in permanent homes and their foster families get to know the dogs and cats learning important information about the animals. For example, the foster family will know if the dog or cat is good with other animals or children, and will have a good idea of what kind of training, attention, and special needs the pet may require. This makes our foster families great resources for potential adopters!

What We Do
We help dogs and cats find homes with loving families through foster-based care. Every dog and cat lives with a foster family until they find their forever families. We provide all of their basic needs including proper food, veterinary care, behavior training, and supplies.
Through in-home fostering, we learn about each animal’s temperament, personality, likes/dislikes, and any medical needs. With this first-hand information, we can then find the right family for each dog and cat.
Our volunteers also educate the public on responsible companion animal care and represent respect for animals at all times. Whether we’re working with prospective new families, meeting people at public events, or socializing with friends and family, we encourage others to view and treat their pets as members of the family. We are their guardians, and they depend on us for companionship and care.
We spay/neuter prior to adoption.
We microchip all our Pet Haven Pets and remain as a secondary contact.
We make sure all pets are up to date on required vaccinations
We test for Heartworm and Lymes in all our dogs and are transparent in the results and treament
We test for FeLV/FIV and are transparent in the results. We believe that cats who test positive still deserve a chance at a quality home.
We do not euthanize animals unless they have untreatable health or behavioral conditions that deny them an acceptable quality of life or makes them a serious threat to people, other animals, or themselves.
How We Operate
We rely on adoption fees, tax-deductible donations, grants, and special events to keep our rescue operating. Our staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers have provided the passion and commitment to keep Pet Haven a safe haven for animals for almost 70 years.
We are committed to preventing pet homelessness through the SNIP Grant. Since 2005, we have granted more than $240,000 to organizations in Minnesota to support spay/neuter initiatives.
