Introducing a truly one-of-a-kind "pure mixed breed" girl named SHASTA! Figuring out her unique heritage is a fun challenge but here are some possibilities: ♠️ Border Collie: beautiful coloring; ♠️ Greyhound: graceful long legs and pointed snout; ♠️ Rhodesian Ridgeback: cutest little swirl of a ridge at the nape of her neck (see last photo); ♠️ Plus: something with captivatingly tall, erect ears and a huge heart❤!
This lovely, lanky girl is a very sweet 1-year-10-month-old pup.
🎄 Dogs/People friendly: She is wonderfully dog friendly. Initially shy with people but opens up to friendly cuddles.
🎄 Playful Pal: Loves play time with her dog pals.
🎄 Great Companion: Good walking partner on leash.
🎄 Cat Status: Not sure but seems to steer clear of cats!
Shasta, like most homeless animals, has one big wish: a Forever Home🏠🎁! Come meet lovely Shasta today and feel your heart melt as this shy beauty shares her sweetness with you.💕

The Bastrop Animal Control organization became a reality in 1998. We've grown since then and continue to do so as Bastrop County grows. Currently, we have 3 separate buildings containing a total of 90 large indoor/outdoor kennels and 8 play yards. We have 30 indoor cat kennels. We also have a 3 room cattery, that enables cats to live together in colony type environments until they find their forever home. If you have ever worked with or adopted a shelter pet, you know just how much they crave the attention and love we and our volunteers can provide and their eternal gratitude when they find their forever home at last.
