Roman is a 3-year-old Plott Hound, weighing about 58 pounds. He’s brindle, vaccinated, and he is currently heartworm positive but our clinic offers discounted treatment to get him back to his best self. He is not neutered yet, but it is covered by his adoption fee and it only takes 2-5 days before he is good to go to his forever home! Roman is a calm, observant dog who prefers to take his time getting to know new people. Once he’s comfortable, he shows affection in a quiet, genuine way. He walks very well on a leash and has a steady, composed presence. While his temperament is laid back, Roman still enjoys activity and would do well in a home with a large yard where he can stretch his legs and explore at his own pace. Our beautiful, 41,000 square foot facility is currently open to the public. HSSM is open for adoptions Tuesday – Friday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. No appointment is necessary to adopt, however, adoptions are first-come, first served. You must come to HSSM to complete your adoption and make sure you bring a photo ID, as it is required to complete adoption paperwork.
Our adoptable animals page is self-updating and displays ALL of HSSM’s adorable adoptable pets from “pocket pets” to birds and of course the hundreds of dogs and cats currently calling HSSM home! See one you like? Make sure you note your favorite’s name and animal ID number so that HSSM staff and volunteers can easily find him/her when you come in!
