My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Looking for a second shadow? Have a lot of strings in your house that need hunting down? Ed is your guy!

Eddard is a sweet man with a ridiculously tiny meow and a love for chasing anything on a string. While quality time is definitely his main love language, since he doesn’t appreciate loud noises or sudden raucous movements he would do best in an adult only, dog-or-rowdy-cat free household. There’s a chance he’d do ok with a quiet cat pal, but since his foster doesn’t have another cat to test him with this isn’t guaranteed. Edd absolutely loves cuddling up riiiight next to people and crawling into laps, but on his own terms! As he can get overstimulated by people-initiated cuddles that he didn’t ask for, he’ll need a home that can notice and respect when he wants to play, or when he simply wants to observe you, instead of being pet.

Despite his occasional nervousness, he truly loves people! He greets his foster every time she comes home with a straight tail and enthusiastic tiny "mew," and gives quite powerful headbutts to brand new human friends. He loves being under the covers and usually sleeps as close against his fosterperson as possible—his adopters should be careful about jumping in bed without checking for Edd-shaped lumps!

Eddard came to PAWS after his previous owner passed away, and so he was understandably very stressed after experiencing some difficult days. As a result, he’s been on gabapentin (a mild anti-anxiety medication) to help rein in his nervousness while in the shelter and transitioning into his foster home. If he feels more comfortable in a permanent home, this may not be necessary long term. PAWS’ vets did not note any major health concerns on his intake exam.
