Here's what the humans have to say about me:
I was found as a stray so my history is mostly a mystery. I am very handsome and I am a bundle of energy at the shelter. I love people and I love to fetch!
Foster notes on Cannonball:
`Cannonball was a delight to walk with! He went potty as soon as we were outside, so he seems to be well house trained. He was calm and relaxed in the car. We went to Johnston Mill Preserve and enjoyed a long hike in beautiful weather. He was very curious about our surroundings, including people that passed by, but he didn`t pull and mostly just watched and sniffed. He is friendly, handsome and very well behaved!`
`Cannonball is a young, energetic, very enthusiastic dog who loves being outdoors. We took him for a 4.5 mile hike at Carolina North Forest and he was really in his element. He has very good endurance and has a beautiful, efficient gate, and so had no problem with the distance. He was totally focused on the trail and alert to what was going on in the woods. He did pull on the leash, but we used a harness with a chest leash attachment and he did very well with it. He is still a young dog and loves to play, and he occasionally wanted to stop and play tug with his leash. We could distract him from that with treats. He likes people and other dogs, didn’t show any aggression, and didn’t bark a single time. We really enjoyed hiking with him because he was so happy to be out and clearly had a great time. I think he would make a great companion for someone who can give him a little training and ensure he gets the exercise he needs, such as long walks, a fenced backyard to run in, or another dog to play with.`
`Cannonball is pure joy!!! He is a big ole puppy in a big body. He has lots of energy, but also can cuddle up for a nap on your chest. He would likely do well if an active household or one with other dogs. He loves to play! Cannonball would need to be crated when left alone and could use some leash training. He is friendly as can be and never met a stranger. Anyone would be lucky to love this crazy, silly, sweet boy. Favorite thing: His friendly heart and silly spirit. Cannonball is simply pure joy.`
