My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Aphrodite! When we got Aphrodite, she had been living at a vet hospital in Mexico after being attacked by a dog while pregnant. They were able to house her and provide her with a safe space to give birth and nurse. Sadly, only 2 of her babies survived She lived with them for 2 months while nursing, then was spayed and brought to us. When we met her, we noticed that she was covered in scabs (either due to flea bite dermatitis or healing wounds), both ears had mites and were packed with debris, her spay site was open and infected, and her skeletal structure just didn't feel right Thanks to our amazing partner veterinarian, Pearl Street Vet, she was seen right away. Her spay site was numbed and stapled, and she was provided with strong pain medications and antibiotics to deal with the infection. She was such a champ for her radiographs, which unfortunately confirmed our fears- she had four broken ribs. 2 of them had already begun healing, but fused abnormally, and one of the ribs was broken so badly, that there is a floating bone fragment that will never reattach. She also had a small spinal injury, which we hope will not cause any issues in the future, but there's no guarantee. As of now, she has full function and feeling in her legs, which we are thrilled about! We were able to clean and treat the ears as well, and they thankfully cleared up quickly! Through all of this, Aphrodite has been the most sweet and patient girl! She was in a foster home for about a month while her broken bones and infection continue to heal. As of 4pm on 11/1/2025 she will be back at the lounge and ready for adoption! Apply to adopt Aphrodite, today!November 25, 2025, 8:39 pm
