My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey there, I’m Charlie—a 6-month-old black Lab mix with a goofy grin and a heart full of sunshine. I weigh 35 pounds, I’m neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. I’m a medium-sized guy who’s just about done growing, and yes, I’m easy to scoop up if needed.

I’ve got that classic Labrador personality—playful, sweet, and always up for a splash. I love water, walks, and watching TV with my people. After a good romp, you’ll find me belly-up, snoozing like a champ. I picked up house training quickly and do great with a consistent schedule. I sleep in the bedroom at night, usually at the foot of the bed, but I’m crate trained and totally fine going back to it if needed.

I get along with everyone—big dogs, little dogs, cats—and I know how to adjust my play style depending on who I’m with. I haven’t met any kids yet, but I’m gentle and kind, so I think I’d be a great fit. I’m about 90% trained and just need to learn your house rules. I’m easygoing, food-loving, and full of charm.

I’m in Myrtle Beach, SC, but I can be transported to the right home (transport fees may apply). If you’re looking for a playful, gentle buddy who’ll keep you laughing and snuggling, I’m ready to be your best friend.

Go meet their pets

Our adoptable dogs are all in various foster homes and can be met by contacting rescue. Rescue will then provide foster home's contact information. Meet and greets will be arranged between foster and potential adopters. We also have adoption events at Petsmart on various dates which can be checked on our Facebook page, Operation Save a Shelter Dog.

More about this rescue

Our Mission

Operation Save A Shelter Dog is a foster based, IRS-recognized 501c(3) rescue whose mission is to work with shelters on the East Coast by saving dogs at high risk of euthanasia or that have little hope of adoption in their current condition. Not only is it our goal to find furever homes for our dogs, but also to educate the public on the importance of spaying, neutering, vaccinating and providing preventative care for their pets.
