Elsie showed up as a stray cat on a property near Butterfield, MN on July 31st.
The family couldn't keep her and they realized she was pregnant.
Elsie gave birth to 7 kittens the very next day at this property!
With help from the community, our shelter lined up a foster home to let Elsie raise her kittens.
She did great taking care of her kittens and had a wonderful time living in her foster home!
She got along great with the other pets in the home.
Elsie's kittens are now weened and almost all 7 have been adopted.
Elsie is now back at the shelter, ready for her next chapter.
In October, Elsie tested positive for FIV .
This hasn't slowed her down.
She seems to otherwise be a happy and healthy girl.
Elsie is calm and gentle and loving.
She just wants to wander around, rub against your legs, explore new spaces, and receive affection.
She loves to be pet and talked to.
Elsie has a great laid back personality.
She is spayed and vaccinated.
Due to her diagnosis, she must be indoors or monitored when outside, as to not accidentally spread the virus.
Please consult your veterinarian if you are considering adopting Elsie and have other cats at home.
