My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The picture of autumn ease to come: cool breeze through the window, warm beverage in hand, tasteful floral sweater, engrossing new book to read, and two affectionate kittens curling up in your lap. But who will those kittens be? Why, it must be two snugglebugs with names and personalities to match the season: Nap and Nudge! These little guys love to get comfy. Whether it’s bed time (when the lights turn off, they take their cue and settle in next to your pillow), snack time (which they follow up with a hearty sleep), or marsupial time (when you carry them in a pouch made out of your shirt), Nap and Nudge are the coziest cats you’ll ever meet.

While Nap and Nudge share a love of relaxation, they offer different forms of contented companionship. Nudge, a light-footed and polydactyl black cat, perfectly plays the part of fey familiar. His watchful eyes and playful paws are well-suited to the impish revelries of the ethereal. He also loves getting little scratches on his tummy. As for Nap, his person-like, expressive eyes communicate the familiarity of an old friend. This soft ball of gray fuzz loves to trade kisses and face rubs between wrestling matches with his brother. These kittens have a lot of love to give and sleepy afternoons to share! Adopt them to have the best sweater season ever.

Please note they are too young to be altered, we will work with an adopter to schedule this once the time comes.

More about this rescue

Our rescue group was formed in December 2007, but all our Board Members have had extensive experience rescuing and working with abandoned animals. We often work with other rescue organizations to find appropriate and safe foster and adoptive homes for our pet clients. We regularly go to areas with abandoned animals and collect them. The animals are taken to a licensed veterinarian examined, treated and spayed or neutered. Every effort is made to work with the animal and our foster and adoptive families to find a suitable forever home.

For those animals who are truly wild and feral, we release the animal in a safe and secure location after it has recovered from its medical treatment. We also work with certified wildlife rehabilitators to rescue injured and orphaned wildlife. Our organization is focused on improving the welfare of the abandoned animals in need of help in Brooklyn. In furthering that goal, our resources are focused on the animals.

Aside from a few minimal overhead costs such as our website and phone services, our entire budget is spent on animal care such as medical and food costs.
