My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Willow! Willow came to CCHS as a stray from the Loyal area towards the beginning of August. This sweet gal is about 1 year old and weighs roughly 48.3lbs currently. Willow is an absolute sweetheart! She can be a little on the timid side, as coming into a shelter setting can be quite daunting to some pups, but with a few treats, positive encouragement, and a whole lotta forehead kissies and she will warm up in no time! Willow is currently working on her leash manners as she can tend to get a little excitable when she catches a new scent! She would benefit from having a patient furever family that is willing to meet her where she is at with all of her little quirks! Willow would also benefit from being the only dog in her furever home as she can have a bit of anxiety around other dogs. While we may not be entirely certain what her exact breed makeup is, we can tell you she's 100% a good girl! With any rescue, training and socialization are incredibly important to the success of the pup. Apply for Willow today!

Please note the "Start Your Inquiry" button to the right above is not submitting your application. You can click on "More About Us" to the right and then click on "Adoption Application" button which will take you to our website where you can actually apply. You can also go to cchs-petshelter.org/applying-to-adopt or bit.ly/CCHSadopt. Thank you!

Approved applicants will be notified via email. Please check junk/spam folders for a response.

The adoption fee is $200. Adoption applications can be filled out at CCHS or online through our website, www.cchs-petshelter.org. Applications are not first come, first served. All applications will be reviewed by the adoption committee and the home chosen will be the one considered to be the best match. All dogs and puppies have been vaccinated for Distemper and Bordetella, dewormed and microchipped. If old enough, they will be vaccinated for Rabies and blood tested for Heartworm, Lymes, Anaplasmosis and Ehrlichiosis. Dogs and puppies will be spayed or neutered before adoption.

CCHS is proud to be a No-Kill Humane Society. As a private, non-profit charity, our work depends on donations and volunteers to keep going. We are committed to helping the animals that enter our doors and finding each the best possible forever home. CCHS has been inspected and licensed by the Department of Animal Health - DATCP. Our license is #268235-DS.

More about this shelter

We care for the homeless and needy cats and dogs in our area. We provide for their medical and emotional needs while they are with us, while continuing to search for new homes and families. We also sponser 'FixaPet', a low-cost spay/neuter program available to anyone from anywhere.

Why do we do it? Because the animals need us and it's the right thing to do! :o)
