2 year old Nana is one of the sweet and loving pups we have in our care.
She is good with dogs, cats, and kids. She will really do good in a home with children, she loves hanging out with kids, and listening to their commands.
Kids have to be respectful of dogs and be familiar with dogs to adopt our pups.
Nana was found by her foster mom when she was picking up her kids from school. Incidentally, a lady reached out to her claiming that she used to feed Nana and her brother and two other dogs when the family was dropped off to her neighborhood. Her description and identification matched Nana to the T.
The lady requested our rescue to take her brother and the two other pups she is feeding, as she wants them all to find great homes, away from the outside stray lives.
Nana knows a lot of commands and is extremely well behaved. She is very quiet and is one of the easiest pups her foster mom has cared for.
She walks well on leash with her foster siblings and hangs out with them, without any problem. She is also kennel trained and has no resource guarding tendency, as you can see from the video, how she eats with other dogs.
Nana lives with 2 other dogs and a kitty, and 2 kids in her foster home and gets along with everyone.
Nana is about 2 years old, and currently weighs 52 lb. She will become a medium size dog. She is spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, and kept on heartworm and flea preventative. She is currently being fostered in Houston but can travel to any state, even Canada to the right home.
To meet this amazing pup via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com
Nana's adoption fee includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, Harness and Transport Fee to several states in the United States.
Yards MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences.
Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them.
Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank you for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.

Take the Pet Home
Most of our pups are fostered in Texas, and can be transported out of state, for a cost of $250 - $300
Additional adoption info
Our adoption fees are $250 - $350 for most dogs. However, breed specific dogs and puppies cost more.
Special needs, & senior dogs may have a reduced fee. See individual dog profile for specific adoption fee.
If you choose one of our pets, please submit an initial adoption application available at www.savesomesouls.com to proceed further. We do not answer inquiries, without application, due to time constraint.
We spay/neuter our animals prior to adoption unless they are under 3 months old, for which we will require a spay/neuter agreement in place, and you will have to make a $150 deposit which will be refunded after we receive the proof of sterilization surgery. Once fixed, we transfer the pup's chip to you.
Out of town adopters must live in a city where we have our volunteers available, and the pet must be returned to us if it does not work out, so you have to hold them till we arrange transport.
Adoption approval is only final after meet and greet and homecheck are complete.
There are often multiple applications filled out for the same animal. In these cases our decision on which applicant adopts the animal is based solely on the best home for that animal after interview, all home visits, meet & greets and reference checks are complete.
If you are not selected to adopt one particular animal, it does not mean you can't adopt from us if your adoption application has been approved. We will work with you to find another animal in our rescue who will be the best fit for your home.

Our animal rescue section has been organized with very compassionate and dedicated volunteers whose only goal is to save a pet.
Each day hundreds of healthy, adoptable dogs and cats are euthanized in the kill-shelters of America. In Houston itself, we have the largest population of strays and our shelters are full with strays and abandoned animals including those surrendered by their owners because of reasons such as unwillingness to take care of them, pregnancy, divorce, loss of job, loss of home, prison intake, loss of compassion, empathy, you name it. Add to this, are abandoned pets on the side of the street by owners. Our mission is to give these puppies another chance at love and life. If every person will stop buying from breeders and adopt a shelter pet and spay and neuter them, we will be able to eradicate our euthanasia problem.
