Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This is a courtesy post. Please do not contact Heart of the Foothills Animal Rescue. Contact information is provided below.
Ozzy is a sleek cat with warm auburn eyes and a calm, loving nature. He was found living outside a liquor store where the staff had been feeding him. Despite his tough start, he always greets everyone with a happy heart, thrilled for food, pets, and any bit of kindness. He loves belly rubs, rolls over to show his trust, and even pauses while eating just to get a few more head scratches.
Unfortunately, Ozzy has tested positive for feline leukemia (FeLV). Consequently, he needs to be placed with other FeLV-positive cats or in a place that can safely accommodate him.
Ozzy is fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccinations (minus FeLV). He received a full checkup and bloodwork on September 29, 2025, and the veterinary team absolutely adored him for his calm, gentle temperament.
Ozzy is a peaceful, easygoing cat who enjoys the company of both people and other animals. The rescuer cannot keep him indoors as she has two immunocompromised cats, and she cannot risk exposing them to FeLV. He has already survived so much, and he deserves better than to be back on the streets. With the right care and environment, he can live a comfortable and happy life surrounded by people who will appreciate his sweet personality.
If you are interested in Ozzy, or can offer him a place in your FeLV colony, sanitary, or foster network, please email jennifercats28645@gmail.com or telephone 850-559-0770.

Everyone that adopts must first fill out an application and get approved by our adoption team. We allow people to meet our animals to make sure it is the right fit along with letting their animals meet our animals as well as long as that animal meets the vetting criteria.

We are a non-profit and no-kill shelter in Rutherford North Carolina. We pull animals from animal control and take in animals from the community. We make sure everyone is healthy, up to date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped, dewormed, and put on something for fleas, ticks and heartworm prevention. We then place them up for adoption making sure they go into great homes.
